K-12 Education

When it comes to education opportunities, Grant County has excellent primary and secondary educational facilities. Grant County educators care about the integrity of their students and teach them to achieve beyond their own expectations.

Higher Education

Grant County is also the home to two world-class universities, Taylor and Indiana Wesleyan, and Indiana's Community College, Ivy Tech.  In 2008, Ivy Tech opened a brand new 95,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility in Marion.  These institutions provide the tools needed to improve the current workforce as well as provide future employees with substantial skills.

From global arts to highly skilled technical degrees, Grant County universities provide a large span of expertise that attracts a diverse array of students. With classroom learning designed to be applied in the workplace, Grant County's educational institutions prepare our students to make a difference in our community.

Project Leadership

Project Leadership is a 10-year old organization that blossomed out of a generous investment from Lilly Endowment, Inc. in 2000, when Lilly funded a Community Alliances to Promote Education (CAPE) program in Grant County.

The Project Leadership mentoring program is a community partnership that works to weave the dreams, hopes and futures of our community's most precious resource - young people. This school-based mentoring program matches outstanding community volunteers with local Twenty-first Century Scholars to encourage and guide them throughout their academic high school careers. Project Leadership awards mentorships to scholars during their freshmen year of high school. Mentors commit to a minimum of a one-year relationship with the student.
