INFORMATION:

The GC Inc, an effort of the Grant County Economic Growth Council and Innovative Network, will be sponsoring an after school Young Entrepreneurs Program (YEP) at Marion High School in the upcoming fall 2011 term. The program is open to both MHS juniors and seniors who have been nominated by a MHS teacher and meet the basic criteria listed below.

YEP is designed to get students thinking innovatively about their community and also learning the foundation of launching a business. Local business professionals, college juniors/seniors, and MHS staff will be teaching, speaking, and mentoring students in the areas of business, innovation, and entrepreneurship, while giving them the chance to network with the business world of Grant County.

Throughout the course of those ten weeks, the students will explore the various parts of business, including marketing, finances, and idea generation, as well as write their own business plan in groups of three. Upon completion of the program, each team will present its completed business plan to a panel of judges.
