Indiana Youth Institute 2022 Conference

In April, the Economic Growth Council had the opportunity to attend the Indiana Youth Institute’s 2022 conference, on the State of the Child. The conference discussed demographic data across all Indiana counties on topics including family and community, health, economic well-being, and education.

Grant County ranks 14th in the state for largest youth population (ages 0-17), 17th in education, and 18th in economic well-being. In addition to the presented data, there was discussion on how to implement changes and improvements to increase county rankings.

The Economic Growth Council used this experience to brainstorm ideas for collaboration on topics of education and child environment. One major takeaway from the conference was: support and collaboration within Grant County communities could be the key to the discussed improvements.
