Exeon Processors and its predecessor have operated a wire reclamation facility for more than three decades in Jonesboro, a city with fewer than 2,000 residents. It was great news when Exeon opened a new production line next to its existing plant and added fifteen employees in 2020.

Since 2002 the Grant County Economic Growth Council has regularly conducted a confidential Business Climate Survey of local employers. The 2020 survey incorporates many of the questions from the original and 2020 respondents provide employment for the majority of Grant County employees.

The Growth Council’s mission is strengthen by a diverse, strong, and active Board of Directors, and the Growth Council has made increasing Board of Directors engagement and education a priority in 2020.

Grant County’s economic prospects are looking up. According to the Bureau of Economic Analysis’ (BEA) annual report, Grant County’s gross domestic product (GDP) rose by 11.17 percent between 2017 and 2018.
